Check out this blog post from Paul Glass, Founder and CEO of Motiv8 brands https://paulrglass.substack.com/p/stop-selling-and-start-connecting?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=20n72y&triedRedirect=true
This blog was really interesting because it highlights something that is easily overlooked in social media marketing: people connecting with people, not just products. I liked the point about authenticity. A perfectly produced advertisement might look impressive, but a genuine customer story can create a much stronger emotional connection.
Your Motiv8 customer sharing their fitness journey really demonstrates the power of user-generated content. The product becomes part of a personal story rather than simply something being advertised. The real “customer review” that we all crave, not paid partnership content.
Without a doubt, technology can make marketing more efficient, but it shouldn’t remove the personality that makes a brand unique. I think your statement, “use technology to strengthen your voice, not become your voice,” is a great takeaway. Ultimately, social media works best when brands focus on building trust and relationships rather than simply trying to make a sale.
